Evriq for legal
AI for legal teams
Evriq gives a legal team one shared place to draft, redline and research with AI agents. Each piece of work is a matter with a responsible attorney and a reviewing attorney, and both of them work in the same session as the agents.
Matters with a responsible and a reviewing attorney
Create a Legal project and the work in it is called a matter. Every matter has a responsible attorney, a reviewing attorney and a status, and its page shows the sessions, documents and decisions linked to it.
An administrator names who holds each role once, under People & access. The person who holds the reviewing attorney role becomes the reviewer on each new matter by default, so nobody has to remember to ask.
A matter moves from open to in review to approved to done. The responsible attorney sends it to review, and only the reviewer or an administrator can approve it. The attorney who drafted a matter cannot approve their own work.
Redline a draft with agents
Upload the agreement to the matter and start a session on it. Before every turn the agents read the latest version of each document on the project, including the text of Word, Excel and PDF files, so they always work from the current draft.
Every Legal project starts with a standing brief for its agents. It tells them to cite the clause, document and version they rely on, mark each assumption, and leave legal conclusions to the attorneys. Keep a project private when a matter should be seen only by the people you add to it.
- Ask for a first pass on an NDA against your standard positions.
- Have the agents propose redlines and explain each change in plain words.
- Start a review round so several models check the draft blind before an attorney reads it.
Every version kept and downloadable
A document on a matter keeps its whole history. The NDA as received, your redlines and the signed copy are all versions of the same document, and each one records who saved it, when, and from which session.
Nothing is overwritten. When an agent publishes an edit back, that edit becomes the next version, attributed to the agent and the session that made it. Anyone on the matter can download any version. See Documents, artifacts and files.
Questions only a lawyer can answer
When an agent reaches a point that needs a lawyer's judgment, it files a decision with its recommendation. In a Legal project the starter brief tells the agents to put open legal questions to the responsible attorney this way.
The decision appears in that attorney's inbox, linked to the matter, and the answer goes back to the session that asked. A decision filed without a due date is due three days later, so open questions do not sit unseen.
Export a memo as Word or PDF
A memo, summary or draft an agent writes to the project's board is an artifact. Export it from its menu as a Word document, a PDF, HTML or Markdown, and send it on in the format your client or opposing counsel expects.
Each export is checked against the same access as reading the artifact, and every download is recorded in the audit log.
Questions from legal teams
Who approves a matter in Evriq?
The matter's reviewer, who is the reviewing attorney by default, or an administrator. The responsible attorney sends the matter to review and marks it done once it is approved. See Review rounds and approval.
Can the agents read our Word and PDF files?
Yes. Before every turn the agents read the latest version of each document on the project, including the text of Word, Excel and PDF files.
How do we get a finished memo out of Evriq?
Export it from the artifact's menu as Word, PDF, HTML or Markdown. Any version of an uploaded document can also be downloaded from Documents.
